Hi. I just had my 20 week ultrasound and found out that my umbilical cord only has two vessels. The doctors assure me that many women have this issue and go on to have healthy babies but it is obviously still a little scary. I have an appointment for another ultrasound with a specialist in a couple of weeks to check on the babies size and organ development. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Any info would be appreciated. thanks!

Hey @cloudyday – I also had a two vessel cord when I was pregnant with my first child. It was definitely a little scary at first especially when they told me it could be an indicator for Down’s Syndrome. After another ultrasound they were able to tell me that everything looked good. They did warn me that the baby would likely be underweight at birth, but he came out at 8lbs 9oz so everything came out okay in the end. I hope everything works out for you too, keep me posted!
