Hi Everyone! My name is Sheila and I am a proud mother of a 10 month old. My baby is healthy and happy, which is great, but the problem is me. I feel like I never have any energy and I am still carrying a lot of my baby weight. Before getting pregnant, I was SUPER active and never had any issues with weight or energy levels. I have been trying to get back to gym a couple of times a week but I just struggle when I am there. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions of things that have worked for them? I am getting desperate!! Thanks!

Hey @stardish. Are you getting enough rest? That can be really important when trying to take care of a little one. Also, pay attention to what you’re eating too. Sometimes we get so busy taking care of everyone else, we forget to think about us. If you’re not eating and sleeping well, that could lead to low enery and weight gain. Just something to consider. Good luck!

@stardish I don’t know where you are but if the weather is permissible, maybe try incorporating your little one into your workouts? Maybe skip the gym and toss the baby in a stroller and head out for a walk. Sometimes just getting some fresh air and sunshine can help change a mindset. Although @christyk is right too and you should make sure that you are getting enough rest as well. Either way, don’t put too much pressure on yourself to get back to your pre-baby routines, enjoy the changes that have made your life what it is now. Cheers!

Hey @peterandy and @christyk! Thanks so much for responding! Is it always so quiet in here? 🙂

You both made some great points. When I stopped and thought about it, I realized my eating habits have really gone downhill. I have gotten used to focusing meals that are fast and quick to clean up but I have been making an effort the last few days to do some actual cooking. Definitely not gourmet, but the best I can do will a little one under foot. I have also been going for walks. The snow is finally starting melt a little here so walking isn’t so treacherous any more. I haven’t been taking the baby with me so far (still so cold!) but I am enjoying the time on my own. I am definitely looking forward to having Dylan join me when it warms up! Anyway, I appreciate the feedback!

Hey @stardish – Unfortunately, it does seem very quiet here, I guess there aren’t that many members. Such a shame because I think this site could be helpful for many people.

So glad our advice was helpful and glad to hear that things are looking up for you. The snow is just starting to melt here too and I am so glad, it has been such a long winter and I am ready for spring. Right now my only exercise has been getting out and collecting my fresh eggs once a day. Keep up with your good work and keep us posted!

Hey @peterandy – Just wanted to give you a quick update. We have had some warmer weather here so I have been able to get the stroller out for some walks with Dylan. We walked over 4 miles today! I haven’t done that since before I was pregnant!! I’ve also lost 2 pounds this week and I am super excited about that as well. We are getting more and more excited for spring here too. Thanks!
