Are there any other moms here who exclusively breast feed their babies? My little one is almost four months old and she only seems to be having bowel movements once every 5-6 days. She seems happy and not in any distress at all so I haven’t wanted to take her to the doctor. Just wondering if this is normal? Thanks!

Hi! When my little was, well, littler than she is now (she’s currently 6 months) and I was exclusively nursing, she also only had bowel movements once every few days, and it worried me. But, I think it bothered me more than it bothered her! I was told that it was because they digest the breastmilk so fully that there really isn’t always much waste for them to get rid of. I’m glad your girl is happy and not bothered by it! But, if you are concerned, then definitely give your doctor a call so they can help if you need it. Good luck!

Hi @lendychapman – Thanks for letting me know that you experienced the same thing. Funny thing, I think she has pooped every single day since I posted that question. That makes sense and is really good to know though in case she starts going that long again. Thanks again!

Haha, she was saving it up for you 🙂 As long as you, your doctor and she are happy with her pooping schedule then that’s what matters!
